Convert a PNG to SVG

This free tool traces a PNG into an SVG, a vector file made of shapes and curves instead of pixels, so it stays sharp at any size. You also get a DXF file of the same outline for laser cutters, engravers, and CNC machines. It runs in your browser, with no account and no software to install.

How it works

  1. Drag in a PNG, or choose one from your device. JPG, WEBP, and HEIC files work too.
  2. Check the preview. Adjust the threshold, edge smoothness, or color mode if you want a different look.
  3. Download the SVG and DXF when it looks right.

Tips for converting PNGs

PNG is a lossless format, so edges in the original are usually crisp, which gives the tracer clean boundaries to follow. Flat, high-contrast artwork such as icons, line drawings, stamps, and silhouettes converts best. For a logo, try Logo to SVG, which starts from settings tuned for logos. Photographs can be traced too, but expect a stylized, poster-like result rather than a perfect copy.

Is it free?

Yes. Uploading a PNG, previewing the result, and downloading the SVG and DXF are free, with no account required.

Can I convert a JPG instead?

Yes. See JPG to SVG, or read how PNG to SVG conversion works and when to use SVG instead of PNG.

Do you keep a copy of my image?

No. Uploaded images and the traced output are held on the server for up to 30 minutes to allow processing and download, then deleted — see the Privacy Policy for details.
