Turn a drawing into a printable coloring page

Scan or photograph a line drawing and this free tool cleans it into crisp black lines on white, ready to print and color. You can download it as a PNG for easy printing or as an SVG, which stays sharp at any print size. It runs in your browser with no account and no software to install.

How it works

  1. Scan your drawing, or photograph it flat and in even light, and drag the file in.
  2. Adjust the threshold so the lines are solid black and the spaces to color stay white.
  3. Use the speck filter to remove stray dots and edge smoothness to tidy wobbly lines.
  4. Download the PNG (or the SVG), open it, and print it at the size you want.

What works, and what does not

This tool turns the image into black-and-white shapes. That is perfect for a drawing, a sketch or line art, where the lines become clean coloring-page lines. A photograph usually becomes a high-contrast silhouette rather than an outline, so it will not look like a typical coloring page. For the best result, start from a drawing with bold, closed shapes.

Print it well

Paper matters as much as the page. Markers can bleed through thin paper, so see our guide to the best paper for printable coloring pages, and best printers for coloring pages if you print a lot. To color it, try the markers or colored pencils we compare.

Is it free?

Yes. Uploading a drawing, previewing the result, and downloading the PNG or SVG are free, with no account required.

Can I make a coloring page from a photo?

Not a typical one. The tool makes black-and-white shapes, so a photo tends to become a silhouette. A drawing or sketch is the best starting point.

Can I use any image?

Use your own drawings, or artwork you have permission to use. Do not trace work you do not have the rights to share or sell.

Do you keep a copy of my image?

No. Uploaded images and the traced output are held on the server for up to 30 minutes to allow processing and download, then deleted — see the Privacy Policy for details.
